ADDS THREE REALTORS 

The award-winning Baldwin Dream Team at RE/MAX Village Square, welcomes three new Realtor Associates this fall: Sidney Simon, Nicholas Baldwin and Samuel Anderson. 

Sidney, who recently relocated from Atlanta, GA., graduated from Clark Atlanta University with a degree in communications. In Atlanta, she was Compliance Manager at SunTrust Bank, with responsibility for developing and nurturing vendor relationships, with regulatory agencies, accounting and consulting firms, will specialize in residential real estate in Montclair, NJ and surrounding towns in Essex County, NJ. She previously held a Georgia real estate license. 

Nick Baldwin, a native New Yorker raised in Brooklyn Heights and Montclair, NJ, joins the team after a career as a certified personal trainer and professional actor. Nick, a member of SAG and AFTRA, is currently completing a Communications degree at Montclair State University. He specializes in residential real estate, condos, and rentals in Montclair, Glen Ridge, and the rest of Essex County, primarily working with first-time buyers.  

Sam Anderson has been a RE/MAX agent for the last two years; before that, he worked for Weichert. Sam, who specializes in investment properties and multi-family homes, as well as one-family residential, is The Baldwin Dream Team's new transaction manager. 

The Baldwin Dream Team was established by Roberta Baldwin, a longtime Montclair, NJ-based Realtor, in 2003 to offer clients on the buy and sell sides total service and coverage. The team also includes Tamima Friedman and Nancy Chu, top-producing Essex County, NJ residential specialists.  

The Baldwin group is now ranked among the highest-performing RE/MAX teams in NJ, both in closed transactions and dollar volume.

ROBERTA BALDWIN FEATURED ON NEW HGTV SERIES 

Roberta Baldwin, one of RE/MAX-NJ's top-producing Realtors, is now one of the featured agents on HGTV's new docu-reality series, "Bought & Sold." 

The series, filmed in Essex County, NJ in the fall of 2006, debuted recently to high ratings on the cable channel. The first season's episodes will be repeated, according to the network. 

Roberta Baldwin, a top producer and member of the select RE/MAX International Chairman's Club, will be helping clients purchase homes in Montclair and Llewellyn Park, West Orange communities in episodes of the show. 

A segment on one of Roberta's "Mid-Week Soirees," her periodic, informal after-work client get-togethers, was also filmed.

LIBRARY IN A BOX PROJECT MEMBERS PREPARE FOR 2007  

Library in a Box, the award-winning literacy project supported by the West Essex Board of Realtors, will launch its 5th year of library-building with book contributions to 3 area daycare centers in 2007. 

The project, which won the New Jersey Association of Realtors' Community Service Award in 2005, previously contributed instant libraries to more than 2 dozen daycare centers in Essex County, NJ. 

This year, the committee of local Realtors will choose a new list of recently-published hardcover books, paint colorful boxes and package "Reading Rugs" for children locally. The boxes will be presented in person by the committee. On presentation day, children at the chosen centers will hear some of the new books read by guest readers. 

The boxes will also include a new, interactive book called "Little Light," the brainchild of Montclair toy designer and producer John Gentile.
Gentile, whose wife is Realtor Nancy Gentile, a longtime member of the Library in a Box" committee, is now creating a musical and movie based on the book. 

Committee chair Roberta Plutzik Baldwin created Library in a Box for the West Essex Board. Each box is underwritten by local Realtors and Brokers, friends and clients, and other local professionals with an interest in promoting childhood literacy.

BALDWIN TEAM SCORES AT HIGH IN STATE & COUNTY
RE/MAX SALES FOR 2006 

The Baldwin Dream Team is now Essex County, NJ's leading RE/MAX real estate team. With Roberta Plutzik Baldwin as team leader, the group now ranks #1 in 2006 closed transactions in the county as tallied this month by RE/MAX-NJ corporate. 

Roberta Baldwin was also inducted into the "Chairman's Club," joining only a handful of RE/MAX realtors statewide with that designation. 

The Baldwin Team was also ranked #5 statewide by RE/MAX-NJ statewide in sales volume as well as #1 in closed transactions in the West Essex Board of Realtors. 

Additionally, Roberta's ranking at the Platinum Level in the New Jersey Association of Realtors' Circle of Excellence competition was shared with only 3 other local Realtors in the West Essex region. 

Team members Tamima Friedman and Nancy Chu each received RE/MAX-NJ "100 Per Cent Club" designations for 2006 sales of more than $100,000.

BOARD OF REALTORS® KICKS OFF 2ND ANNUAL
“JUST SWEATERS” HOLIDAY CAMPAIGN FOR 2005 

Local Realtors® Collect Knitted Garments for Charity 

For a second year, the charitable drive to collect slightly used sweaters is being sponsored by community-minded Realtors affiliated with The West Essex Board of Realtors®. Dubbed “Just Sweaters”, the project runs from October 1 to 31st.  

Last year, more than 400 sweaters were collected, sorted and packaged by the Realtors® and donated to local charities. 

“Just Sweaters is now part of our larger effort to give back to our towns,” said Michael Lattimer, board president. “We hope not only Realtors® but citizens of the Essex County towns we serve will join us this month in promoting and collecting warm sweaters.” 

Community Service Committee chair Roberta Baldwin of RE/MAX Village Square, Upper Montclair, commented that “last year, on short notice, colleagues and citizens of several Essex County towns gave their support to the project, resulting in mounds of sweaters for adults and kids that we recycled. Once again, the committee is looking for slightly worn but freshly washed or cleaned garments, preferably in contemporary styles.” 

“Just Sweaters, along with our ongoing projects to collect used cell phones and baby clothes, and to establish libraries in local daycare centers, is an essential part of our ongoing ‘WEBOR Community Care Campaign,’” said WEBOR board executive Elsie Abramo. 

Real estate offices in Montclair and surrounding towns are designated drop-off points for contributions to the project. Sweaters may also be delivered to Elsie Abramo at the West Essex Board office, 311 Claremont Ave., Montclair. Tax-deductible cash contributions to purchase new sweaters will also be accepted.

West Essex Board of Realtors Kicks Off
New 2004 Daycare-Based Arts Project 

Art in a Box®, a fine arts expansion of the successful West Essex Board of Realtors'® Library in a Box® literacy program for area day care centers, kicked off its premiere event October 25, 2004 at Sandy Lane Day Care in Belleville.  

"Like our wonderful Library in A Box® project, through which we have donated new libraries of 30 new children's books to 16 local daycare centers in the past two years, Art in a Box® fills what we see as the need to get young children involved in creative pursuits in their pre-kindergarten years," said Michael Lattimer, president of the West Essex Board of Realtors®. 

Jam packed with the kind of expendable art supplies that make going back to school fun: colorful crayons and washable neon and glitter markers, modeling clay, finger paints, scissors in the shape of bumblebees, frogs and fish, and enough drawing and construction paper to keep the children busy for weeks to come, the presentation arrived in a large wheeled and washable drawer storage system complete with its own library of books written to awaken the Matisses of tomorrow. 

Quote from head of school: Bringing art to the classroom is always a treat, but having the materials presented to the children in a way that makes them realize how special it is to be able to create art, is a even better," said. 

(After a reading from the Metropolitan Museum's ABC's of Art History, local artist Kevin Daviet led the children as they drew their own interpretive alphabet.) 

The two projects, under the auspices of WEBOR's Library in a Box Committee®, are fully funded by the local REALTORS®, affiliates and members of the community. Local Realtors® Carol Tangorra, Lynn Daviet and Kathy Bronander were underwriters of WEBOR’s Art in a Box®, which was conceived by local realtor and former art teacher Jennifer Ley.
